Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church is a Reformed church in Tucson. Rev. Christopher Chelpka is our pastor.
We are a Bible-Centered Church
The Bible is God’s special communication to humankind. As God’s word, it is authoritative and is the only place you can find true comfort in life and death. Only the Bible reveals the truth about our sin, God’s salvation, and how we live for him. Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church is unswervingly committed to the Bible as the Word of God. We are a church that sincerely believes and faithfully teaches the whole Word of God. To put a theological label on us, we are Reformed—Reformed in our doctrine, our worship, and our government. We are a Worshiping Church
Many churches today focus their attention on things like programs, outreach, or fostering community. These things are good things, but at the end of the day, the worship of God should be central to who we are and what we do as a church. We try to live up to this ideal at Covenant, worshiping God with reverence and awe, earnest hearts, and according to his desires. [Read articles about our worship.]
We are a Family Church (Not Just a Church for Families)
Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church is like one big family. You’ll see this at our monthly church potluck or our annual Family Camp, and especially in worship when people of all different ages, backgrounds, and life-situations come together for a single purpose: to worship God. We also offer age-appropriate Bible classes, youth camps, men’s retreats, women’s retreats, and weekly Bible studies. [Read articles about our church activities.]
We are a Mission Church
With the help of our presbytery and denomination, in 2008 we began our life as a newly planted mission work in Tucson. Now it’s our turn to help others. In addition to supporting the missions work of the larger church (foreign and domestic), our elders are also helping to oversee mission works in Concho and Yuma, Arizona.
